Introduction to Emergency Paediatric First Aid – 1 Day Course
This Emergency Paediatric First Aid 6 hour Level 3 (VTQ) – EPFA is a requirement in most circumstances under The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 along with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework.
Why enrol on the Emergency Paediatric First Aid Course?
Having this vital skill set within schools and nurseries is crucial, it ensures that infants and children’s health, safety and welfare is accommodated. Additionally, it is a legal requirement in most circumstances, this should be highlighted during a first aid needs assessment. This assessment also determines the provisions necessary for the first aiders in the specific workplace.
Emergency Paediatric First Aid Overview
The Emergency Paediatric First Aid Course lasts 1 day. Learners who earn this qualification will understand that first aid is a collective responsibility within the workplace. Above all, the subjects covered in this course meet the EPFA requirements outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage and are crucial for maintaining high standards in the safe, timely and efficient management of injuries and illnesses affecting infants and children under the care of trained personnel.
The minimum contact hours for this qualification, excluding breaks, should be at least 6 hours over a 1 day period.
Combined Courses
This course may be combined with another first aid course which has the same or similar course curriculum.
Certification
All successful students will receive an Emergency Paediatric First Aid Certificate, which outlines their achievement.
The HSE and the EYFS states that the emergency paediatric first aiders must undergo the Emergency Paediatric First Aid course again within three years of achieving the original certification for the qualification to remain valid.
Additionally, it’s important to note that all our first aid courses align fully with the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2021, meeting the standards required by the HSE.
