Businesses in the UK have to make correct provision for first aid in the workplace, and the Appointed Person course is ideal for small businesses as well as extra coverage in medium to large businesses. This course is taught under the guidelines of the HSE First Aid at Work Regulations 1981 and subsequent changes.
All our first aid courses fully meet the latest UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines as per the HSE requirements.
Course Content
- Assessing an incident safely
- Identify when and how to use the recovery position
- How to administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- First aid to a casualty who is choking
- Treatment for a casualty with external bleeding
- Treatment for other minor injuries (including burns and scalds)
- First aid for a casualty in shock
- Heart conditions
- Spinal injury
- First aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis
