The First Aid at Work (FAW) refresher course is for anyone requiring the annual refresher training as a first aider as recommended by the HSE. Businesses should annually refresh their first aiders and keep their skills current. This course is ideal for many other sectors including Basic Life Support (BLS) to people who just want to know a little more about first aid.
All our first aid courses fully meet the latest UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines and the HSE latest requirements. This course is ideal for those who have taken any version of the FAW or EFAW courses.
Keeping first aid skills refreshed and current is an HSE recommendation and our online course offers an easy and effective method of meeting these recommendations.
Course Content
- Assessing an incident safely
- Identify when and how to use the recovery position
- How to administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- First aid to a casualty who is choking
- Treatment for a casualty with external bleeding
- Treatment for other minor injuries (including burns and scalds)
- First aid for a casualty in shock
- Heart conditions
- Spinal injury
- First aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis
