The qualification is valid for three years. You do have a 1 month grace period after expiry to complete a requalification course for renewal, this is only applicable for the First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification.
Yes, the course includes both ongoing practical assessments and a theory test at the end to ensure competency.
No is the simple answer, it’s against HSE guidance. There is misleading online courses out there which state to be HSE compliant for FAW & EFAW qualifications. Delegates need to conduct practical hands on face-to-face element of the course to be physically assessessed.
Blended learning is compliant for First Aid at Work courses, approved by the HSE in 2015 under guidance document GEIS3. This is a mix of both online e-learning and face-to-face practical learning and assessments.
